about kim wayman

Kim has spent the last two decades exploring language, visual art, community-tending, and ritual as modes of shaping culture. While living in New Orleans, they co-founded and ran a community healing space called Haus House (2013-2015), where they taught Reiki and other practices for spiritual connection, offered ritual tattoo, and hosted events geared toward collective experiences. They co-created the DreamWisely dream journal and planner (2016-2020) and are a current collaborator on the Dreaming the World to Come radical Jewish planner. Their visual work extends to zines, wall calendars, book covers, flyers, invitations, and graphic design. They hold a BFA in painting from the University of North Carolina Asheville.

In 2024, Kim completed a two-year fellowship with the Jewish Studio Project and is a facilitator of the Jewish Studio Process. She arrives at her both her facilitation and her art-making with a basketful of inquiries and explorations into areas including systems thinking, animist practice, ritual and initiation, extra-rabbinical Jewish folkways, exploration of the ancestral heart within modern culture, and making way for the emergence of strange and mysterious beauty.
