I work primarily with oil paint and natural materials: wood, stone, raw pigment, river water. It matters to me to ritually tend a relationship with the more-than-human world; some of this is seen directly in my work, while much is subterranean.

I am interested in making work that is reverent, relational, and warmly alive, and which seeds the possibility of more beauty in the world.

I come alive when I’m supporting artists in their creative process as well as walking with people of all kinds through the creative fire of life transitions and rites of passage. I am passionate about increasing the creative wellness of our culture, and believe that it is within the creative process that it is possible to actually change how we think and know. This passion inspired me to co-found Conspire Studio, a community space for creative inquiry in Asheville, North Carolina, where I facilitate creative inquiry for groups and work as a one-on-one coach.

I am indebted to the work of the artist-mystics across time, who include el Greco, William Blake, Rainer Maria Rilke, Nicholas Roerich, Georgia O’Keefe, and Evelyn de Morgan. I am greatly influenced by the work of thought leaders, teachers, and wisdom keepers, including Bayo Akomolafe, Joanna Macy, Josh Schrei, Martin Prechtel, Malidoma Some, Nora Bateson, and adrienne maree brown. And I devote all of my work to the great Beloved who holds us all within her matrices, the breathing pulsing Tree of Life: may this work comprise a single drop of life-giving nectar exuded from your branches.
